CNG Tank Disposal

Compressed natural gas tanks have three main hazards which make them dangerous to handle:

• High Pressure (3600 PSI)
• Flammability
• Asphyxiation
• Although these are the main hazards, CNG tanks are also unique because they contain a 12-volt valve making it increasingly difficult to depressurize.
• Additionally, it takes special training to handle & empty CNG tanks because even after all exterior fittings are removed, the tanks still hold pressure & gas.
